The LOOP rift chandelier is a piece designed to negotiate weight, illumination and suspension. It features a continuous wooden surface which opens into rifts, allowing light to move laterally through the form. Rather than treating light as a simple downward function, the piece uses it’s opening, internal contours, and layered construction to shape how light travel across the room.
Suspended by slender cables, the LOOP rift chandelier appears visually light in contrast to its heavy material presence. The elongated profile offers the object an opportunity to inhabit space and volume despite being airborne.
